About

Benjy Sandler is a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and composer from North London.

He studied French and Spanish (BA) at the University of Bristol, before studying for a Master of Performance at the Guildhall School of Music.

Recent performance highlights include playing twice at the EFG London Jazz Festival - both with his own co-led quintet and with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra - and playing with the London Improvisers Orchestra at Cafe OTO. He has released and appeared on multiple albums, the latest of which attracted the praise of Jazz FM.

As well as performing on and composing for acoustic instruments, he likes to explore electronics and has produced pieces that use wavetable synthesis to manipulate acoustic sounds; one of these was featured at the "Polyphonic" exhibition at the Crypt Gallery in Euston in 2023.
